Agree? No? Hey you must agree. You live this life with your perception, you view, physically and mentally.
You analyze thing using your own mind, based on your own knowledge, value and preference.
That is why, people concern more about what happen to themselves and not others. Well, if you are hungry like a stray dog, would you still care if Africa is having famine?
I think that is one of the reason people is selfish. Yeah, I know there is some that is not selfish. But look carefully...even to most selfless people will make sure they are OK first before being selfless. Reason is, if in this particular film about your life where you are the protagonist which happen to be a selfless person, how are you going to show how selfless you are when you're starve to death?
Well, use hunger as an example. The purpose of being selfless is to sacrifice and contribute so that people won't die of hunger. If you die, what will they get? They may get your share of food, but still won't solve the issue. Sad part is you being dead already make to whole operation to prevent people dying of hunger a failure.
But still, we can be self centered. Then your film will only have one character, which is you. Unless you are Tom Hanks and have a volley ball with you, no people will be interested with you. No one care, no one knows if you are dead, no one publish you obituary, attend your funeral or remember you. Reason being, the film is about one person doing things. Who would wanna watch this shit anyway?
