DIY: Pasta Back-To-Back 2 - Pasta with Sausage in Alfredo

Part 2 is the more common take on pasta. The basic stuff still pasta. Like Part 1, cooked, cool and drain the pasta.

Other stuff - Shrimps and sausage slice.

Plus Alfredo sauce in glass container and some cheese powder or some Parmesan cheese.
Heat some oil and fry the sausage.
When the sausage starting to turn brownish, turn to low heat and add in the sauce. If you scoop it from the container, it is more like paste. You will have to add some water, depend on how thick you want it.
Stir a bit and let the sauce heat up till it is simmering. In the meantime, get you pasta ready in a plate. Sprinkle some cheese powder.
When the sauce starts to boil. Turn off the heat and pour it to the pasta. Arrange some boiled shrimps on it. You can do the shrimp when you cook the pasta. After you get the softness you desired, throw in the shrimps to the boiling water and let it cook for around 30 seconds. Cool it along with the pasta but put the shrimp aside when you set the pasta to the place.

Well, since the overall color a bit plain, add some green color thingy. My fridge got only spring onion. Then just take a little, chop it fine and garnish you dish. Just a little will not provide any flavour, and we don't need spring onion flavour in this dish.

And...done...Bom Appetite~!

DIY: Pasta Back-To-Back 1 - Mamak Goreng Pasta

First part, let it me start with a local take on pasta. Referring to a step in mamak's Maggi Goreng. So, we can name Mamak Goreng Pasta. ~lol.

We will need pasta, any type will do. I manage to get vermicelli in my kitchen. It is a bit thinner than spaghetti. We also will use some green pepper, red chilly, shrimps, sausage slice and an egg.

Bring the water to boil. Add some salt and oil. The cook the pasta. It takes around 10-15 minutes. You can check by picking a strand and chew on it. If it is soft enough for you, then it is done.

Remove the pasta from the boiling water. Now I employ a technique from Chinese cooking -through the cold river...lol. Dump the red hot pasta into some cold water and drain it after a few seconds. Rationale is, even after removed from the hot water, the pasta is still cooking. If you leave it open and hot, the surface portion will get dry and cold, but the bottom will remain hot and over moist. This will actually prevent it and since we added oil when cooking it, the water will not washed away the oil and after we drain it, the pasta won't be too sticky.

Heat some oil and stir fried that chilly and pepper in low heat.

When the smell starting to come out, add in the sausage slice and stir fried it will it starting to turn brownish.

Then add in the shrimps, followed by the egg. Fire remain low, scramble the egg.
Before the egg fully cooked and harden, dump in the pasta. Wow...this is for two servings. Stir fried for a while. You may turn the fire higher.

Now introduce you the secret of mamak's maggi goreng...the add in the powdered soup! Notice almost all mamak is using Curry flavor Maggi? That's why la. For this dish, I use Mamme's Curry soup powder. Reason, I only manage to find this one in the kitchen. And because I found this one, I decided to cook this dish.

Since the pasta is enough for two serving, then it is all save to pour in the whole packet. And you can save on the soy sauce and salt.

Mixed or stir the pasta quickly and thoroughly; until the color is even. Let is fried for a few seconds. Then we can serve.

This is for one serving. Hmm shouldn't have use a transparent dish. A white one can enhance the over color a bit. Taste ok, but less heat. Maybe the pasta too much for the little pan. Should get a wok slightly bigger than that. Jusco like got promotion ler.....

DIY: Fried Rice, Jacob's Edition

Well, apparently dark week is not that dark...yet. I still manage to leave the office around 6 something or 7; which mean there is till the Sun waiting outside the office.

Downside it, until my salary comes out this end of month, for this two weeks I think I need to live like an Otaku - stay at home and stick the head to the idiot box. I need to spend economically, which mean better dine at home.

My mum does not cook in weekdays, she need to baby sit a baby and a pig. For weekdays, we got supply from a home cook catering service. The so call home cook means this food is cook in someones home, but it will taste like our national fast food - Mixed Rice. Apparently this fast food business also got delivery service one ler.

In a day, dinner is the only meal to have higher probability to eat at home. And since eat at home, mixed rice quality thing, I shall not address as food. Those are chemical substance my family ingest to fuel up. So, to be able to save money, eat at home but not those chemical substance, I need to cook myself~!

Check in the fridge, I found that we have enough material to make the Fried Rice, the very fisrt dish I learn't to cook15 years ago~ wahahahahahahahahaha~

For this dish, we need a) RICE
and EGG (a must), cili padi (optional), sausages slice (optional), shrimps (optional) and spring onion (not a must, but better have).

Make sure that you have some supply of oil, and seasoning like soy sauce, salt, pepper and sesame oil.

Check the time: 2027 hours...START!!!!!
First thing, heat up the wok and some oil (depends on the amount of your material). This is enough for two servings.

When you see it started to smoke, mean it is very hot, reduce the heat, and put in sausages, then followed by the shrimps. Stir fried them for a while.

A while is enough, then break an egg and dump its content into the wok. The shell you can throw away. Stir fried it fast. Let those sausages, shrimps and egg mixed together.

Before the egg fully cooked, pour in the rice quickly. Stir fast. If you find some rice balls formed, press it with spatula. Make sure there is no rice ball.

Now we can put the cili padi and some salt or soy sauce or both. How much will depend on you taste. Since soy sauce is dark, the darker your rice get from the sauce's coloring, the saltier it will be lo. Stir the rice to mixed them up. You can add more sauce later if find the color too plain.

When we hear sound effects like "blik blak blik blak" and some rice starting to jumps like jumping beans, means you rice is hot enough and is ready.

The last touch will be, pepper, sesame oil and spring onion. The three material with a strong aroma. Mixed the rice in fast motion for a few seconds and shut down the stove.

Transfer the rice to a dish...tidy it up to be more presentable.
See our golden fried rice...
A finishing touch will be a little fresh spring onion and a little chili sauce.
Tada~ Jacob Fried Rice...(no biscuit added) wahahahahahahahaha~ my dinner~!!!!

Check the time again, 2034 hours.

7 minutes total. Simple~ Bon Appetite.

DIY: Shit

Hi,
Now, want to share with you all how to make shit, that can be used for decorative purposes.
It is a simple all can do it process using household product.
A rather fun project for weekends.

So, in the very same day of the mee-hun-kuih making, I also documented the process of making shit.

First, you will need some wheat flour, coloring (water color will do, if don't have, coffee powder), water and some glue. Told you, all household thing.

Now, add some water to the flour and make it into a dough. Add flour if too much water, add water if too much flour. Common sense.
When the dough starting to take shape, add in the coloring agent. Keep on mixing them, until you get the color you want, and the color is even enough. Make sure you don't make it too dark. It will get darker in the finished product.
Then roll and stretch the dough. If the dough is too big, then you can choose to make a few small shit or one deep shit. Stretch it long and thin. Make sure both ends are a bit pointed. Then roll it into the shape of a shit.

You can undo and redo this until you get the shape you like.

Then, grease a heat resistant plate and put our shit on it. Steam it for 5 to 15 minutes, depends on size.

When steaming is done, the color will get deeper. You will get something like this. told you it will get darker.

Now, pour some glue into some container.

And apply the glue using an art brush (the hard one) on the surface of the shit. Make sure you covered all area.

Since you would not able to cover all area in one time, start with the bottom, let it dry first, then only proceed to the surface.

Leave it till the glue completely dry off.

It will leave you shit a glossy surface, and tada.....

Your decorative shit is complete. Where will you put it?

I put it in my car, the Shitmobile of course!

End; Happy Shitting!
